Here is a summary of the key issues the Village Council will address at their meeting on Thursday, October 10 at 6 p.m. in Village Hall:
- Issue a proclamation recognizing Louis Giarusso Day, honoring his many years of volunteer service with the Fire Department, where he rose to the rank of Assistant Chief and continues to contribute countless hours to the people of North Palm Beach.
- Consider approving a shared parking agreement with First Unitarian Church next to the Public Works facility.
- Consider on first reading, amending the Village Comprehensive Plan to implement its Evaluation and Appraisal Report and ensure the Plan's consistency with changes in state law and community needs. This includes updating multiple elements such as Future Land Use, Conservation, Coastal Management, Recreation and Open Space, Intergovernmental Coordination, and more. A revised Water Supply Facilities Work Plan will also be adopted.
- Consider on first reading, amending the Code of Ordinances to remove requirements superseded by changes in the Florida Building Code. The Council also will consider amending Village Code to recognize new flood maps by Palm Beach County, modifying elevation requirement for manufactured homes and other administrative changes.
- Consider appointing a member to the Business Advisory Board.
- Hold a discussion about the Village’s Awards and Recognitions Policy.
