[ARCHIVED] Impact fees, Twin Cities, clubhouse restaurant on next Council agenda

NOTE: NEW COUNCIL START TIME OF 6:00 p.m.

Here is a summary of the key issues the Village Council will address at their meeting on Thursday, August 8 at 6 p.m. in Village Hall:

  • Issue a proclamation recognizing Florida Water Professionals Month and celebrating the vital work of those who operate and maintain drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater systems in Florida and North Palm Beach. Their efforts are crucial to public health and safety.
  • Review applications for the Village Business Advisory Board and make appointments.
  • Consider, on second reading, amending the Village Code to officially move the start time of regular Village Council meetings to 6 p.m.
  • Consider amending the Village Code to align with the Florida legal definition for live-aboard vessels.
  • Consider, on first reading, creating the Village Place Planned Unit Development and approving a Master Site Development Plan and Master Phasing Plan for 13 acres at the former Twin Cities Mall site on the southwest corner of U.S. 1 and Northlake Boulevard. The master plan sets the maximum development parameters for the site. Approval of the master plan does not authorize construction or guarantee maximum development parameters. Each phase will undergo separate site plan and appearance reviews by the Lake Park Planning and Zoning Board, the Village's Planning, Zoning and Adjustment Board, and the Village Council.
  • Consider, on first reading, approving an ordinance to impose impact fees on new development. Impact fees are one-time fees local governments may charge a developer to cover a portion of the anticipated cost of additional infrastructure and public facilities needed to support new development.
  • Review the qualifications of two potential vendors to occupy the restaurant space at the Village Country Club when Farmer's Table moves out. These vendors were chosen by a selection committee from several applicants. Both vendors will be present at the meeting to make presentations and answer questions from the Council.

If you want to submit a comment for Council to see, you can email it to the Village Clerk at npbclerk@village-npb.org. The comment will NOT be read openly at the Council meeting, but you are welcome to come in person to address the Council publicly.
