[ARCHIVED] Village Council meeting summary, June 28

Council 2018-04

At their regular meeting Thursday night, the North Palm Beach Village Council took the following actions:

  • Unanimously accepted a proposal to set the guaranteed maximum price (GMP) for construction of the new Country Club at $14,375,114. The agreement is with The Weitz Company, which is the firm that will build the clubhouse. Demolition costs had already been set and were not factored into the construction GMP.

  • Unanimously agreed to allow Verizon Wireless to add an 11th antenna to an existing cellphone tower on the property of the Community Center on Prosperity Farms Road. The Village will receive an additional $3,000 a year from Verizon under the new agreement.

  • Unanimously agreed to fund additional repairs to the Lighthouse Bridge seawall up to $250,000. The project was expected to cost $161,000, but as work progressed the need for additional repairs became clear. The repairs will extend the life of the bridge 5 to 8 years before a major bridge renovation will be required.
