Here is a summary of the key issues the Village Council will address at their meeting on Thursday, April 10 at 6 p.m. in Village Hall:
- Issue a proclamation in recognition of Water Conservation Month.
- Consider approval of a merit increase of 3 percent for the Village Manager.
- Consider on 1st reading, modifications to the Board and Committee meeting schedules and absentee policy, adding an anti-nepotism provision, and requiring quarterly reports to the Village Council.
- Consider approving changes to the Benjamin School Commercial Planned Unit Development, adding a .93-acre parcel, extending the pick-up/drop-off loop, demolishing the existing administrative office building and constructing a new one, removing the unconstructed maintenance facility from the site plan, and reconstructing a portion of parking within the McLaren Road right-of-way.
- Consider on 2nd reading, approving changes to Village Code clarifying Country Club and golf course hours of operation and explicitly outlining prohibitions against damaging or defacing facilities, including golf course grass and bunkers. The proposed changes would explicitly prohibit the use of any vehicles other than authorized Village golf carts on the golf course. This is in response to repeated damage caused to facilities by after-hours riders on bikes and various motorized vehicles.
- Consider on 2nd reading, approving the creation of a Planned Unit Development for Village Place, and approving a Master Site Development Plan and Master Phasing Plan on 13 acres at the southwest corner of U.S. Highway 1 and Northlake Boulevard, known as Village Place (former Twin Cities Mall site).
- Designate a voting delegate and alternates for PBC League of Cities.
