Here is a summary of the key issues the Village Council will address at their meeting on Thursday, July 18 at 6 p.m. in Village Hall:
- Consider a proposal from All Pro Striping for work on recently milled and resurfaced roadways at a cost of $31,752.
- Consider a proposal from Atlantic Smart Technologies for audio-visual upgrades to the library's Obert Room at a cost of $25,665.
- Consider approving a change to a grant agreement with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection for the receipt of grant funds for preparation of a vulnerability assessment.
- Consider approving an increase of $10,000 in the blanket purchase order issued to Commercial Energy Specialists for the purchase of pool chemicals utilized at the Country Club.
- Consider, on second reading, an amendment to increase compensation for the Mayor and Village Council members. This increase would start with Council members elected in March 2025.
- Consider, on first reading, formally amending the Village Code to move the start time of regular Village Council meetings to 6 p.m.
- Consider, on first reading, an ordinance to regulate overnight parking in swales.
- Consider adopting in Village Code the Florida statutory definition for live aboard vessels.
- Consider setting a tentative millage rate of $7.49 for every $1,000 of assessed property value for the 2025 fiscal year. This rate is not the final property tax rate; it is the maximum the Village could set after two public hearings in September.
- Consider approval of a final payment in the amount of $108,745 to Ranger Construction Industries for the 2024 milling and resurfacing of various roadways throughout the Village.
- Consider accepting an amendment to the continuing contract for professional architectural services with CPZ Architects, to accept a proposal for the construction of a new Water Reclamation Building at the Country Club in the amount of $169,314.
- Consider approving a contract with Butler Group of South Florida to provide school crossing guard services at an estimated cost per school year of $97,156.
- Consider approving changes to an agreement with Chen Moore & Associates to increase the compensation for fiscal year 2024 to $125,000.
- Consider accepting a sole source proposal from Emergency Vehicles for the conversion of an existing transport van to a Mobile Command Center.
- Consider increasing the amount payable to Haverland AG Innovations for athletic field turf maintenance services for the current fiscal year by $40,000, bringing the total to $239,673.
- Consider approving a first amendment to the interlocal agreement with Palm Beach County for access to common talk groups.
- Consider accepting a proposal from Mueller Construction for the renovation of the ground floor Library restrooms at a cost not to exceed $128,348.
- Hold a discussion with the Village Manager about the Business Advisory Board.
