Business of the Season

The Village is accepting nominations for our seasonal designation as Business of the Season. The new program recognizes outstanding achievement among profit and non-profit organizations in North Palm Beach. This award is presented to a Village business that does extremely well in community involvement, economic growth, customer service and/or professional relationships. The goal of the seasonal award is to encourage business success in the Village and to highlight a business, giving extra marketing exposure to aid in growing the business. The award season runs from January to December annually.

Eligibility for Selection

The business must be in good standing with the Village of North Palm Beach including but not limited to possessing a BTR and no outstanding fees owed to the Village such as BTR fees, fire inspection fees, and taxes, if applicable.
The business must be established and operated continuously for at least one (1) year.
The business must have less than fifty (50) full-time employees (Locally operated franchises are eligible).
The business must not have won the Business of the Season award in the past two (2) years.
The business must be registered and in good standing with Florida SunBiz.
The business must be an independently owned business or franchise or a public entity.

Criteria for Selection

The following shall be addressed for consideration as a nominee:

Business Image: The business must project a positive image from the standpoint of its physical appearance and work ethics including but not limited to a reputation of honesty and integrity in their practice.
Advocacy: The person should act as an advocate of his/her trade by participating in professional organizations associated with that type of business.
Ambassador: The individual should be willing to serve as a representative of local business owners during the year in which their award is received.
Innovation of Product or Services Offered: Evidence of creativity and imagination in providing management of business.
Nominee’s Contribution to the Community: Nominee must have donated resources such as time, talent, and/or money to the Village community via projects, clubs, and volunteering for the Village or events within the Village.
Personal Characteristics: Nominee should reflect favorably as a “model” representation of the business community; present a good appearance; be able to communicate business and Village ideals to groups of people; support economic development in the Village, etc.

Nomination Process

Companies can be nominated by any another business, individual and/or they may nominate themselves. This award is available only to Village of North Palm Beach businesses that are registered with the Village. All nominations must be submitted on the Business-of-the-Season Nomination form. All verified nominations will remain for consideration until the next seasonal application period from the date of submission.

Village email Blast announcement
Social media distribution
Display “Business-of-Season” sign in front of the business for one month
Picture on the Village website
Certificate with name, month, and year the award was presented

Selection Process

Deadline for submittal of nominations is as follows:

Spring submittal: January 15
Summer submittal: April 15
Fall submittal: July 15
Winter submittal: October 15

Nominations are verified by the Village staff with the Business Advisory Board vetting and voting on the winner of the season.
