Composition & Duties
Ordinance 2019-01 (effective 4/1/19) created an Environmental Committee composed of seven members to serve staggered terms of two years.
The Committee has the following duties and responsibilities:
• The Committee shall act in an advisory capacity to the Village Council and recommend programs and activities to promote and conserve the village’s natural environment and enhance the overall appearance of the village, including, but not limited to, public facilities, swales, open spaces and rights-of-way;
• The Committee shall ensure that the existing and future village programs and public improvements are, to the fullest extent practicable, environmentally friendly and utilize and promote native, drought-tolerant plant species;
• The Committee shall identify, analyze and address issues relating to the overall aesthetics of the village and recommend methods to encourage and recognize the beautification of privately owned commercial and residential properties; and
• The Committee shall perform any other duty or responsibility assigned by the Village Council.
