The Village of North Palm Beach has earned an official designation of “2020 Tree City USA” from the Arbor Day Foundation in recognition of the Village’s commitment to preserving and maintaining the beautiful and diverse trees found throughout the community.

“Tree City USA communities see the impact an urban forest has on a community first hand,” said Dan Lambe, president of the Arbor Day Foundation. “The trees being planted and cared for by North Palm Beach are ensuring that generations to come will enjoy a better quality of life.”

The Arbor Day Foundation says North Palm Beach is one of more than 3,600 Tree City USA communities, and that Village residents should be proud to live in a community that makes the planting and care of trees a priority.

Lambe wrote to Mayor Susan Bickel noting worldwide issues of air quality, water resources and energy use, saying North Palm Beach is stepping up to do its part.

“As a result of your commitment to effective urban forest management, you are helping to provide a solution to these challenges,” Lambe said.

The Arbor Day Foundation is a nonprofit conservation and education organization with the mission to inspire people to plant and nurture trees.
