At their regular meeting Thursday, November 8, the North Palm Beach Village Council took the following actions:

  • Approved final payment of $68,634 to Cone & Graham Heavy Construction Inc. for the removal and replacement of the sea wall at Anchorage Park.
  • Approved additional payment of $3,750 for work on the new roof being installed on the public safety building. The money will correct a flaw in the roof’s original construction.
  • Directed the Village Clerk to publish notice of the General Election to be held on March 12, 2019.
  • Approved payment of $15,798 to Dover, Kohl & Partners for consulting and design work on the Twin Cities Mall site on the southwest corner of U.S. Highway 1 and Northlake Boulevard.
  • Agreed to increase the maximum compensation for NZ Consultants Inc. from $10,000 to $50,000 for providing Planning and Zoning services until open positions in the Village’s Community Services department are filled.
  • Approved a plan to lease 878 square feet of additional office space for the Community Services Department at an increased cost of $1,327 a month.
  • Approved a plan by the Village Sanitation Division to move vegetation collection days throughout the Village to Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and to change the collection of bulk items to Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning January 1, 2019.

There will be no Council meeting on November 22 because of Thanksgiving, so the next regular meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Village Hall. The public is welcome to attend.
