At their regular meeting Thursday, August 9, the North Palm Beach Village Council took the following actions:

  • Accepted a proposal by TD Bank to provide banking services for the Village.
  • Approved a $35,312 contract for the purchase and installation of three irrigation pumps that will provide water for the Country Club golf course and several public areas.
  • Agreed to release a lien on a residential property that had several code violations, but whose owner has made arrangements for corrections and the sale of the property.

At a separate workshop session, the Council discussed public access to Lakeside Park and listened to several people explain that visitors to the park have been creating problems for residents who live nearby. The Council asked Village staff to prepare a plan for increased parking restrictions at the park and to create better signage explaining park rules.

The Council’s next regular meeting is scheduled for Thursday, August 23 at 7:30 p.m., and they have budget workshop meetings scheduled for August 14, 20 and 30. The public is welcome to attend.
