The Village of North Palm Beach will hold an online auction beginning May 1 to sell surplus items from the Village Country Club’s 55-year-old clubhouse, which will be demolished early this summer. The auction is open to businesses, vendors, contractors, restauranteurs, homeowners, collectors and anyone with an interest.Among the items to be sold are:•Ranges •Ovens•Freezers•Dish machine•Deep Fryers•Plates, glasses, pitchers•Silverware•Shelving units•Trays and kitchen tools•Tables and chairs•Barstools•White fence•Furniture•Fans•Golf shop displays•LockersThe clubhouse and 18-hole golf course will close to all business beginning May 1. However, the clubhouse will open temporarily on May 8 from 9 to 11 a.m., and from 5 to 7 p.m., for anyone who wants to personally inspect the items being sold.The online auction will continue through May 11. Once the auction closes, buyers should pay for their items online, print their buyer’s certificate and call to schedule a pickup appointment any day from May 14 to 18, between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is the buyer’s responsibility to remove the purchased items from the facility and to bring any tools necessary for removal work.Demolition of the building will begin in late May, and the new clubhouse is expected to open in late summer of 2019.The golfing greens will re-open in December this year after new grass has grown in, but project planners have not yet determined any closing dates for the driving range, pool and tennis courts. Those facilities will be managed from temporary structures until the new clubhouse opens, and dates of any temporary closures will be publicized once known.Items to be sold in the auction will be posted online May 1 at www.govdeals.com/northpalmbeachfl.
