Crime Scene Unit

The Crime Scene Unit works closely with the Criminal Investigation Division and responds to scenes where there is a need to collect and process evidence. The evidence is then used to help successfully prosecute the suspects who were involved in the reported crime.

The Crime Scene Unit technicians receive specialized training in areas of::

  • Photography and different types of DNA
  • Biological trace evidence collection

They are responsible for not only collecting the evidence but also for processing and developing information which will be helpful in the identification of the suspects. It is truly a team effort that makes for a successful identification, arrest, and prosecution of a suspect and the Crime Scene Unit is a critical part.
