Obtain Business Tax Receipt
Process for Obtaining a Business Tax Receipt
Commercial Location Requirements
Commercial locations must submit the following:
- Completed Village of North Palm Beach Business Tax Receipt Application (Be sure to answer all of the questions completely including the narrative and notarize the signature)
- Completed Palm Beach County Business Tax Receipt Application (Do not go to the County Tax Collector’s Office until receiving zoning approval from the Village of North Palm Beach, and a passing inspection from the Fire Department)
- Copy of Articles of Incorporation and/or Fictitious Name Registration
- Copy of lease agreement or property owner acknowledgement
- Copy of applicable State License(s)
- Payment via check or credit card
- Upon submission, Planning and Zoning will review the application to determine if the proposed business meets zoning requirements (If it does, it will be forwarded to the Fire Inspector)
- The Fire Inspector performs an inspection
- The Village will mail the North Palm Beach Business Tax Receipt to the business shortly thereafter, including the approved Palm Beach County application (You may then go to the county tax collector’s office for payment and processing of the county application)
Residential Locations Only
Residential locations are required to submit the following:
- Completed Village of North Palm Beach Business Tax Receipt Application (Be sure to answer all of the questions completely including the narrative and notarize the signature)
- Completed Palm Beach County Business Tax Receipt Application (Do not go to the county tax collector’s office until have received Zoning approval from the Village of North Palm Beach)
- Copy of Articles of Incorporation and/or Fictitious Name Registration
- Completed, notarized Home-Based Business Affidavit
- Copy of lease agreement or property owner acknowledgement (if applicant not property owner)
- Payment via check or credit card
- Upon submission, Planning and Zoning will review the application to determine if the proposed business meets zoning requirements, and, if it does, the completed paperwork including the approved Palm Beach County application will be mailed to the applicant (You may then go to the county tax collector’s office for payment and processing of the county application)
